Welcome to the Family! ❤️🖤🦁🐾 Today we’re excited to kick off the school year by welcoming our newest teachers to Tuscumbia! Their passion, energy, and dedication are sure to make a difference in the lives of our students. They are already hard at work on curriculum. We had a workshop with Step Up Curriculum to start aligning our K-8th grade ELA standards.

🌟💙💛 Tuscumbia FFA Shines at the Missouri State Fair! 💛💙🌟 What a huge day for our chapter! We brought 5 students to compete in the Ag Science contest — and came home with BOTH Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion titles! 🏆🥈 Unlike the State Ag Science Fair where projects are judged within categories, today’s contest judged all projects head-to-head. And our students rose to the challenge! ✨ Grand Champion: Leila Wright ✨ Reserve Grand Champion: Cayden Patterson 👏 Participants: Bryan Buechter, Levi Snodgrass, and Alton Tellman This contest was an incredible way to prepare for Nationals — results we’re anxiously awaiting! But the good news didn’t stop there… 🌸 Mackenzie Pivarnik earned Reserve Champion with her stunning silk bridal bouquet! She also placed Gold and Silver in her other categories, including a silk boutonniere, silk wrist corsage, silk centerpiece, and silk holiday piece. We couldn’t be prouder of this talented group representing Tuscumbia FFA! 💪🌽 #TuscumbiaFFA #MissouriStateFair #ProudAdvisor #GrowingLeaders

All families are strongly encouraged to complete the Free and Reduced Meal Application each school year.

Even if you’re unsure whether your family qualifies, filling out the meal benefits application not only benefits your household—but the entire Miller County R-III School District community. Here are five important reasons to submit the application:

1. You may qualify for free or reduced-price meals and Summer EBT funds. This can lead to meaningful savings on breakfast and lunch costs each month and savings on food during the summer months (e.g. SUN Bucks Summer EBT).

2. It brings in additional funding for our schools. Completed applications help the district secure critical funding for technology, internet access, instructional support and more.

3. Your student could save on college readiness exams. Eligible students may receive reduced fees for the SAT, ACT, and AP exams, and gain access to scholarship opportunities.

4. Many colleges offer application fee waivers based on free/reduced meal eligibility.

5. It affects our state funding. The number of approved applications directly can influence the amount of funding our district receives from the state.

The application process is confidential, fast, and makes a real difference. Please pick up a copy of the form at the office to complete during in-person registration next week.

Questions? Please contact the office.
