4th grade is in the middle of a science experiment. They are using the scientific method. They will be observing what happens to the eggs that were put in water, vinegar and soda.

Flashback to elementary school with Mrs. Wood. She broke out the old school math times test. The pressure was on...some of the 2nd graders even beat me 😉!

The 3rd grade class wrote in their journals on what they would do if they were a principal for a day. It looks like there will be 20 hours of recess, with plenty of snacks and pizza with Donald Trump, John Cena and Elvis Presley. We will be birdwatching and making family bracelets, along with playing baseball all day. They have big plans being a principal!

The school district has partnered with COMC to bring its Mobile Dental Unit to our school. This program provides students with the opportunity to receive dental services during the school day. The Mobile Dental Unit is scheduled to be at school during the week of September 29. If you would like your child to be seen by the COMC Dental team, please complete the attached registration packet and return it to the school. Junior High Basketball Practice schedule for week of September 1st. 🐾🏀❤️🏀🖤🏀🐾 Monday-No school and no practice Tuesday-Boys 3:15-5:00. Girls 5:15-7:00. Wednesday-Girls 3:15-5:00. Boys 5:15-7:00. Thursday-Boys 3:15-5:00. Girls 5:15-7:00. Friday-Girls 3:15-5:00. Boys 5:15-7:00. If your child has late practice they will need to go home afterschool and be brought back for practice.

Homer-stasis Lab in Biology. The lab was introducing the students to the homeostasis process by which organisms maintain an internal environment. Each group had to do their best to keep "Homer" alive by keeping his blood electrolytes, hydration, body temperature and waste removal balanced for 20 minutes. It was a great time watching the students work together trying to see which group could keep complete the task.

Our 4th graders recently had a blast researching famous scientists for a class project. They got to pick their own scientist, then created awesome posters to share what they learned. The posters included cool facts, achievements, and pictures, making each presentation unique. It was a fun way for the kids to explore the world of science and show off their creativity!

We're getting ready to clean up around the Lions Club building at the ballpark for Truck & Tractor Pull, and we may be getting rid of something you need! If you see anything in the pictures you are interested in, contact Dr. Spencer--the first one to speak for something gets it, but you have to have it picked up by the end of the day on Sunday, September 7. UFLI Phonics is a daily lesson for our elementary students. Today 1st grade learned about Nasalized A in Lesson 35B and 4th grade reviewed Lesson 70 and dge /j/.

The softball games for tonight 8/28 and this weekend at Humansville 8/29 and 8/30 are canceled due to not having enough eligible players at this time.
